You Gotta Be Hungry

When you’re working on something you want to achieve, you have got to stand up to that voice. You’ve got to sell yourself every day on your abilities on what you’re doing, on the goal that you want to reach. You’ve got to sell yourself every day, every day, every day. According to your level of belief it will manifest itself in what you’re doing. Whatever we have right now, whatever we’re demonstrating in our lives is a result of what we believe sub-consciously that we deserve. And part of increasing that belief level is that you have got to convince yourself every day. You’ve got to sell yourself.

When you have something you want to do, if you don’t develop the courage to do that which has been given you to do and you spend a lot of time going around trying to convince other people of trying to get their approval, what will happen is that you will lose your nerve. And other people will convince you that what you are doing doesn’t have any value and you give up on your dream. It’s an interesting thing about life, I’ve also found, that if you don’t have the courage to act, sometimes and particularly if you have something special to do, life will move on you.

Most of us don’t use the stuff that we have brought into the universe. And we want to make a conscious deliberate determined effort to start living life with a sense of urgency and using what we’ve got, using ourselves up, sharing what we brought into the universe to share, because if we don’t, nobody else will. Stop wasting valuable time. Knowing that if we begin to live our lives as if each day were our last, our lives will take on a whole new meaning.

Excerpts: Les Brown: You Gotta be Hungry

Life Without Limits

plural noun: limitations- limiting rule or circumstance; a restriction.

Working around the clock, cleaning the house, going to soccer practice, trips to the grocery store, shopping for clothes. . . It goes on and on and on. . . You are constantly doing something. So-called things that you are supposed to do. This is your life now. And your life has crafted into some sort of assembly line. This ‘checkbox’ experience has become the norm for human existence. Your dreams were left behind in order to live the life meant for someone else. At one point you had a dream. Creativity permeated the air surrounding you.

Unintentionally you permitted someone to alter your destiny. Simply by being around other people you can mistakenly absorb the negative words they use. You had an idea and tossed it away because some other moron said it was impossible. Perhaps you tried it and failed. The moment you quit- the moment limitations are manufactured.

These limits are keeping you from your destiny. Inhabiting behind this wall for longer than you can remember. Enclosed within this prison of limitations; unknowingly becoming a hostage. So much time has passed. Through this duration you have stumbled upon comfort. Shattering the glass ceiling would be too painful; therefore, dwelling is here is inevitable. Electing to avoid the pain of change.

“I’m too busy.”– – -You have confused motion with action. Through this idleness and inactivity your time is consistently restructured and handed over to distractions. You enrolled your life to the subscription of other’s desires. Engaging in meaningless conversations or cemented on the couch. Conceivably being further limited by parading the beta version of yourself on social media. Crippled.. .Laissez-faire.

In order to grow, one must suffer. Being the opposition of society or loved ones can be painful.  Understand that even the creation of you is painful. Birth is painful; therefore, we are born into pain. Never be complacent, yet be comfortable with pain.

Open your arms to the torment. Embark upon the aches and discomforts. Realize that pain catalyzes the changes you seek. Enduring irritation is the key to the unlocking these  chains.

Limitations do not exist. If anyone determines you cannot obtain your dreams, it should be you. Never conform.

Free Yourself: Uncaged

“You ever watch lions at the zoo? You can always tell which ones were captured in the wild by the look in their eyes. The wild cat. She remembers running across the plain, the thrill of the hunt. Four hundred pounds of killing fury, locked in a box. But after a while, their eyes start to glaze over, and you can tell their soul has died. The same thing happens to a man.”

(xXx, 2002)

Feeling Alone & Being Motivated

Lost: unable to find one’s way; not knowing one’s whereabouts.

Alone: having no one else present; on one’s own. Without others’ help or participation; single-handed.

Any loss is a form of death. The essence of something is now absent. Maybe a friendship ended or your dog ran away. Maybe you lost your job. Maybe your relationship ended. Maybe someone close to you actually passed away. The identity with this thing leaves us stuck and alone. Wandering and deserted.

The man/woman you once or still love, is now walking alongside someone else. Someone else was hired in your old job. Your best friend has a new best friend.

As these things depart- you remain. Unloved. Feeling sustained inside your vacuum of emptiness. Through the death of these things you become lethargic and confused. The promiscuity of sorrow continues breeding further emotional torment. The byproduct of your devastation creates a missing self-identity that once brought you comfort.

The people you want or wanted in your life are simultaneously having their own life experience. Their concurrent experience simply intersects with yours for a time.  A seasonal conjunction. Everything is temporary and short-lived. Experiences must all come and go. To have died, something must have once lived.

A need for things is simply your own false perception.  Remove the blindfold of loneliness. You believe or feel entitled to believe, the act of desiring these things dictates their presence in your life.

Unknowingly, this confusion and isolation has always been present. Did you evolve in your mother’s womb with someone else? (To the antagonist, even twins are separate beings) Is anyone else experiencing your dreams? Can anyone beyond yourself feel the hot stove your hand rests on?

Alone. You have always been alone. You will always be alone. You have always been experiencing this so called life by yourself.

Those that cannot withstand the smoke, cannot withstand the day you set fire. Let them die.

In the midst of your forfeiture, be cognizant that these inhabilitating emotions were handpicked. Chosen and selected by of course. . . none other than. .  .You!

Embrace your emptiness. Not being filled with these things; your vacant heart is symbolic for acceptance and peace. Let this revelation guide you to the comprehension of a new reality and restored life. You and your Creator- that relationship is sufficient.

*Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? – 1 Corinthians 3:16

*But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. LUKE 5:16 AMP

Negative Self-Talk

Internal characterless statements expunge all validity of our progress.

  • I just want to be happy.
  • I want what’s best for you.
  • I hope things get better for me.

These crumbling phrases paralyze the human spirit. Consequently and unknowingly, creating a self-defeating vigor within your brittle mind.

You cannot afford to be ambiguous. The clock is still ticking – time is running out! You must speak clarity and conviction to your soul.

Engage Your Subconscious Mind

Write things down once your thoughts become meaningful or your goals become truth.  You must review them. Over and over. And over again- every single day!

The practice of writing things down is an accessory to a powerful mind. Psychologically this practice is proven to increase memory, minimize distractions, and sharpen the brain when you get older. Unload the burdens of your brain. Increase the potentiality.

If ever your emotions inaugurate feelings of defeat or surrender; your true self will override these impromptu notifications. Focus, concentration, and diligence will flow with ease. Contemplations suddenly are disciplined. Circumstances will be viewed from the mountain, not the trenches.

Suffering is the catalyst for growth! Be thankful for it and scream something positive to the bogeyman.

Give birth to a conviction within yourself to DO BETTER!

You must apply discipline and consistency to achieve your goals. You have to plan everyday. Hard work . . . works!- Denzel Washington

An inspiring message from my loving mother:

Where you choose to look will determine how you live.

Having an eternal perspective as your priority will affect your choices and decisions entirely. It will also affect how attached you feel to the things of this world.

Its’ disappointments will no longer feel so crushing. Its’ fears will no longer feel so frightful. Its’ goals will no longer appear so alluring. Because you will have the focus to see what they really are, in light of eternity.
